You'll need to barcode your freight with unique barcodes for each SKU.
A SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is a unique product code that is used internally to search and identify stock on hand and track business inventory. There are many benefits of the use of SKUs including the ability to track inventory and sales, easy stocktakes and ease in identifying shrinkage or profits and the ability to forecast sales.
SKU’s are alphanumeric without characters and should provide information on the most important characteristics of a product.
Our warehouses will accept SKU's with Code-128 or GS1 Barcodes
Prior to sending in freight, you will need to lodge an ASN (Advance Shipping Notice)
All inventory needs to be packed and labelled clearly and correctly so that the fulfilment centre can effectively sort through the merchant’s stock.
Labels should be clear, consistent and easy to find so that inventory can be identified, and errors are minimized. Any individual unit that enters the fulfillment centre for receiving must be labelled with the SKU or the barcode (SKU ID with no additional characters). Every bulk SKU (master case or inner pack) must also be labelled. The labelling process is critically important to the storage and outbound shipping process.
We have a national 3PL network and you are able to store stock across any warehouse including in multiple locations within a state.
We have specialist 3PL arrangements in place for the following verticals
We have enabled clients to connect their existing warehouse operations into our 3PL network. This enables you the benefits of running your own warehouse operation with the added benefit of being able to surge capacity when needed. Contact us to learn how we can assist you.
We offer customised packaging. If you have customised cartons or satchels, each of our warehouses can substitute your cartons/satchels for their standard ones.
Typically additional customised packaging is charged on a time in motion basis - the provider will see how long it takes to construct the packaging and charge accordingly. Therefore it is useful for you to source packaging which is easy to assemble as you'll keep additional costs to a minimum.
We can kit or create packages for you. Kitting typically involves picking multiple items and creating a new SKU or stock keeping unit.
We can offer two types of kitting - on the fly or pre-kitted. Pre-kitted items are assembled prior to dispatch and scanned in as a new stock item (SKU). When orders come, the kit is ready for dispatch.
Kitting on the fly involves creating the new Stock (SKU) as the order flows in meaning that the kit is created when the order comes in. This tends to have additional costs as the kit is more time sensitive and the warehouse cannot use off-peak labour.
Understanding whether you can pre-kit or require kitting on the fly is a key part of optimising your costs and service.
If you import via sea or air you'll engage the services of a freight forwarder. Typically most inbound freight into a 3PL comes from the sea port or the airport. Our 3PLs can work with your freight forwarder to accept 20 and 40ft containers as well as airfreight in palletised or carton format.
Typically freight from sea comes in the form of 40ft or 20ft containers. Our 3PLs are able to accept both forms of containers and also have the capability of unloading freight from these containers.
We work with a number of freight partners including Australia Post, Couriers Please, Fastway and Borders Express. We are able to provide freight rates for a wide variety of purposes including
